Right now we are in need of a secretary.  Is this a job you could do?

Job Description:  Secretary

Attend meetings and keep the minutes.  If you can’t be at the meeting, arrange ahead of time for someone to take notes.

Distribute the minutes of the last meeting and upcoming meeting agenda one month to two weeks before quarterly meeting.  For members not at the last meeting, include any materials that were handed out, such as treasurer’s reports, district lists.

Update and distribute current list of the members of the Board of Representatives.  One list to members of the board, and if necessary, a second list for public use to distribute with the guidebooks (to the person who sends out guidebooks), and at workshops and support group meetings.

After Feb/March meeting, prepare ballots and if there are HEAC (Home Education Advisory Council) vacancies, send letter of nomination to the Commissioner of Education.

When new members join the Board:

Make sure they have a notebook with current constitution and Guidebook for Directors of NH Charitable Trusts.

Have them read and sign the Conflict of Interest Policy.

Make business cards if desired.

Keep the paper and disk backups of the treasurer’s financial records.
