How will SB18 and HB99 affect homeschoolers? Read more... Home Education Advisory Council The Home Education Advisory Council (HEAC) meets monthly to discuss homeschooling issues. Advising the NH Board of Education, the HEAC has members who are homeschoolers as well as representatives from the Department of Education, public school administrators, school board members, and a representative of private schools. If you want to be informed of homeschooling issues and lend support to our representatives, attend a meeting. The HEAC meets on the second Tuesday of the month, 3:30-5:00, room 12, Department of Education. Contact Abbey Lawrence for more info, 539-7233. In the morning hear A Homeschooling Sampler. This session starts with a brief overview of the New Hampshire homeschooling law. Then a panel of homeschooling parents talk about their teaching methods and homeschooling styles.
In the afternoon parents and homeschooled teens describe how they put together successful high school programs, and tell you what they are doing now in Homeschooling Through High School and Beyond.

Come one, come all to "The Fifth Annual Homeschooling Materials Sale and Bowling Extravaganza" to be held at the Bowl-A-Rama, 1217 Main St.,in Sanford, Maine on Monday, May 12th from 1:30-3:30 pm. All homeschooling families are welcome to participate in this sale by offering materials for sale and/or browsing and buying. Table space will be available starting at 1:15pm with a table available for "free items" as well. Each seller is responsible for his/her own sales.
Bowling, with shoes
included, will be offered on a first come first served basis, 4 bowlers per
lane, for the duration of the sale for only $4/child or adult. So why not
bring the rest of the family along to enjoy some bowling while you enjoy the

Coos Families Connected Logo Competition
Coos County homeschoolers in grades 7-12 are invited to design a logo for Coos Families Connected, an organization which strives to inform families about county services and help them obtain the help they need. Twelfth Night Performed by the Award-winning Homeschooled Perform It! Stage Company He loves her. She loves another man. But he’s not really a man, he’s a woman. And does she really think yellow stockings make her pompous servant look hot? It’s all a giant mix-up. Add in some mischief-makers, dance and music and you’ll go home laughing after watching this riotous show. Perform It! Young People’s Stage Company will present Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night May 1, 2, and 3 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 pm at the Village Players’ Theater, Glendon Street in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Perform It! Young People’s Stage Company of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, is one of the few Shakespearean theater companies in the United States exclusively acted by homeschooled young people. This high-quality stage company began its work in 1995 with a small stage production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and in the next 13 years would receive many accolades, including three Moss Hart Theater Awards and The New Hampshire Theatre Award. Perform It! has gained a reputation for bringing Shakespeare to rural audiences of all ages in New Hampshire by their unique approach. Theater director, Jan Helling Croteau, adapts the scripts, adding narration to the story and incorporating music so the plays are vibrant productions for all ages. Ticket prices are $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children 12 and under in advance, and $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for children at the door. 5-2-1-0 Jingle Contest
Do you have a creative kid in your life? NH elementary and middle school aged children are invited to participate in the 5-2-1-0 Jingle Contest. Create an original jingle using the following 5-2-1-0 Healthy NH guidelines: · Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day; · Cut screen time to 2 hours or less a day; · Spend at least 1 hour of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day; · Restrict soda and sugar-sweetened drinks. Submit the jingle by May 1 to be eligible for prizes and statewide fame! Visit the Foundation for Healthy Communities' website at www.healthynh.com for contest details and to hear a sample jingle. Newington, NH
During the day, we have storytime on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00AM. All events are free and open to
the public. Storytime is open to all ages and there is always a craft.

Lumenarts presents performances of great
works including The Odyssey, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Beowulf, and great
people including Emily Dickinson and Caesar, Cicero, and Cato. Performances
are live and improv: no two performances will be the same. While the
language is improv the telling stays true to the original text. Performances
are tailored for particular audiences. Performances can vary from 45 minutes
to an hour and fifteen. DVDs are also available. Check

for an unusual option to entertain at fairs,
festivals, parties, family and corporate events consider the Touring Actors
Company. This group of NH teens are traveling with 5 shows in repertory this
summer. You can book Treasure Island, a participation play where
audience members get involved; Beauty and the Beast, an original
musical version; My sister Jake is Dying - dealing with grief and
loss; I am a Girl - history comes to life; or the classic Romeo
and Juliet. All are less than 1 hour long, fees are very reasonable,
and this young cast very professional. . If you have a young actor in your
life, check out the touring actors summer camps at the Rochester Opera
